"The characteristic of scientific progress is our knowing that we did not know."~ Gaston Bachelard
It is very foolish to claim to know something with absolute certainty without any evidence. It is even more foolish to refuse to change our beliefs when the evidence is actually presented that disproves our beliefs.
What evidence disproves the existence of God?
I didn’t say anything about disproving god.
My quote and following statement was in relation to scientific progress.
Now one might not be able to disprove god, in the same way one cannot disprove unicorns, aliens, yeti, leprechauns, etc. what we can disprove are things that have scientific claims.
For example: The earth being the center of the universe (or even or solar system). We now know this is not true. Anyone who refuses to change their belief based on the current evidence is terribly foolish.
The reason why I related this to religion is because they are the institutions that teach their people to refuse to change their beliefs even when presented with evidence. And to rely rather on faith instead of evidence.
Hope that clears things up.
